Is creative therapy for me?

Yes, just give it a try.

You don't have to be an artist or even think you are good at art to do creative therapy. It's really just about expressing yourself in a different way. And as a trained artist, I am here to guide you if you get stuck.

Will I be judged or graded?

No, never. Creative therapy is not about creating a final piece of art that will be sold or put in a museum. And I am not a teacher, giving you assignments. It is about discovering more about yourself in the process of creating something. There is not right or wrong way to do it.

But what if I don't feel creative?

That's ok too. Sometimes you might feel creative and sometimes you might not. Sometimes you might want to sit and talk. Sometimes you might want to write or do something else entirely. Not every session needs to be about making art. Creativity comes in many shapes and forms.

What if I don't know what to do?

That's not a problem at all. Art and creativity can be intimidating, but that's why I am there with you. I can help you think through what you want to do, offer suggestions about materials, or even give you ideas sometimes.

What is a session like?

Every session is different. We usually start with checking in about anything that's on your mind. You might already have an idea about what you want to do or talk about. If not, I will ask you what you want to do, or sometimes I might have a suggestion based on something you are trying to figure out. Sometimes the session is quiet, sometimes we can be very talkative. But usually at the end, we will check in and talk about what happened or what was created.
